The Village of Marcellus Council increased water & sewer rates at the November 12, 2024 meeting by 2 % for most residential & commercial rates. There was new rate created that increases all Commercial properties with only Sewer service (so no water which your sewer rate would be based on) to an “assumed usage of 4500 gallons/per month”. Prior to this, all residential & commercial properties were charged the same “assumed rate of 2000 gallons/per month. There are currently 17 properties that have sewer and no water and 9 of these will receive the commercial assumed rate which amounts to $14.45/ per month. Garbage rates increased by 6% in 2025 which is more than in the past since refuse collection and disposal rates increased more than was projected in previous budgets.
